Fresh vs. Gourmand Fragrance: Which Scent Family Fits You?

If you are stuck between a fresh scent and a gourmand, the decision is less about “which is better” and more about the atmosphere you want around you.
Fresh fragrance profiles
Fresh scents commonly use citrus, tea, ginger, aromatics, watery facets, clean musk and light woods. They often feel crisp, energetic and easier to wear in heat or daytime settings.
McKellar House fresh examples include Azure Voyage, Infinite Current and Atlas Noir.
Gourmand fragrance profiles
Gourmands use notes associated with edible sweetness or richness—vanilla, coffee, praline, coconut, caramel-like effects and warm spice. They often feel denser, warmer and more noticeable in cooler weather or evening settings.
McKellar House gourmand directions include Golden Reserve, Midnight Kiss and ENDGAME.
What if you like both?
Layering is where the categories become interesting. Citrus over vanilla can make the opening brighter. Musk under a gourmand can soften the sweetness. A woody fresh scent over a warmer body butter can create a more complex drydown.
Choose by situation
If you want something for heat, work or easy daytime wear, start with Fresh & Clean. If you want date night, cooler weather or a sweeter scent trail, browse Vanilla & Gourmand.
